Portland Jazz Festival
The nationally renowned Portland Jazz Festival returns Feb.18-27, 2011, bringing cross-cultural collaboration to the city once again.
The festival celebrates Jewish and African American influences under the theme, “Bridges and Boundaries.” Highlights include the premiere of SF JAZZ Collective’s tribute to Stevie Wonder, and performances by such internationally acclaimed artists as Esperanza Spalding, Maceo Parker, Don Byron, the 3 Cohens, Regina Carter and Portland’s own Dave Frishberg. Gospel and klezmer brunches, midnight jam sessions and free performances round out the eighth annual festival, which includes more than 100 separate events.
