The Heathman Hotel: Volunteer-Vacation

The Heathman Hotel

Looking for a hands-on way to teaching the kids — or remind yourself — about conservation and earth stewardship? With the Heathman Hotel’s Volunteer-Vacation, you’ll stay at the Heathman and help preserve Forest Park, Portland’s treasured 5,150- acre urban wilderness just minutes from the hotel’s downtown location.

The Heathman’s Volunteer-Vacation connects you with the Forest Park Conservancy (www.forestparkconservancy.org), a group dedicated to maintaining the trails and natural habitat of Forest Park. The conservancy’s programs include the removal of invasive species, clean-up, National Trails Day events, “Discovery Hikes” and weekly volunteer work parties. Add this family-friendly experience to your stay at the Heathman, and you’ll receive:

  • Hands-on volunteer experience emphasizing stewardship, conservation and environmental education
  • Educational walking tour and photographic memento
  • Forest Park Conservancy recognition
